Wednesday Food Shelf Volunteers Needed (May 2019)

(May 2019) SOTV’s Food Shelf is looking for volunteers who are willing to commit to a minimum of two Wednesday shifts per month on an ongoing basis. The 360 Communities Rosemount Family Resource Center (RFRC) has moved to a temporary location during their major construction project and as a result, have reduced hours to serve their clients. SOTV is adding a 3rd client shopping day to support RFRC during this time.

Wednesday Food Shelf Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Resource Support Volunteer – 3 openings: Meet and greet clients as they arrive for their scheduled appointment, update or create client information in the database, and connect clients to other resources. Volunteers need to be computer literate and commit to at least two 3 hour shifts each month: 10:45 am – 1:45 pm or 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
  • On-Call Shopper – 2-4 openings: It is expected some weeks we will need to contact a person to shop for fresh produce for our Wednesday Food Shelf day. The shopper would be contacted on Tuesday afternoon with the suggested list of needs. The shopper would then need to deliver the purchased items to the Food Shelf by 9:30 – 10:00 am on Wednesday morning.  Shoppers would complete an expense form and be reimbursed for foods purchased.
