What to Expect

In this study we will immerse ourselves in stories of common, everyday experiences of hunger, food, and mealtimes found in the Gospel of Luke. By engaging ourselves in these stories and reflecting on their implications, we will explore not just the historical accounts but also encounter the living Christ who continues to nourish our bodies and souls and inspire us to seek justice and reconciliation. Bring a Bible, notebook, pen, and a friend.

Optional reading (purchase on your own): The Hunger for Home: Food & Meals in the Gospel of Luke, by Matthew Croasmun and Miroslav Volf (Baylor Press, 2022).
