Thanks to the generosity of SOTV, I was able to attend the 2019 Gustavus Academy for Faith, Science, and Ethics in June. This year’s topic was Climate Change. Through lectures, small group discussions, and presentations, I learned how faith and science can work together in a world with a changing climate.
Thank you so much to everyone who was involved in the festivities surrounding my retirement.
My faith was greatly impacted by this trip. I saw God in so many different places. Seeing God work through the people at the Mustard Seed and the little kids who were struggling, but kept pushing through. Over the week we talked about how God loves everyone, no matter their story. Learning to love others the way God loves them is just one way my faith grew deeper.

The block party is an occasion for making real connections with one another in a fun atmosphere with food, games, worship, and music. Everyone is invited on Saturday, September 7!
Interested in hearing from both SOTV groups who traveled to Tanzania last month? Each group will share their stories and some photos on Thursday, August 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in SOTV’s Chapel.
Throughout August, the SOTV Food Shelf is collecting ethnic foods. Please bring any donations to the specified wooden box in the narthex. If you have any questions, please ask the Welcome Center volunteer. Tax donation slips should be located by the donation box.
