Thanks to you, local hunger funds supported many community partners in feeding those who are hungry. In the past few months, the following agencies and those they serve have benefited.
The SOTV Food Shelf has partnered with MN Waste Wise and Dakota County to ensure we are recycling and reducing waste to the best of our ability. As part of this, we were able to receive a grant for another freezer. Did you know we have 6 freezers and 5 refrigerators in the food shelf? The more freezers we have, the more food we can save from the trash!
“Shepherd of the Valley is one of Max’s favorite places,” Kara says. “It’s a safe place for us as a family. I want to help make it a safe place for other families as well.”
How long, O Lord? How long? Daunte Wright’s life mattered. Black lives matter. But this keeps happening. Jamar Clark, Philando Castille, George Floyd, Daunte Wright. And those are just the names we know—from Minnesota.

At the request and ultimate approval of the Church Council, a twelve month Equity Task Force was commissioned to support SOTV’s desire to be a diverse and equitable congregation. By examining our leadership, staffing, and programmatic structures and practices, this task force hopes to identify ways we can better follow Jesus’ command to love our neighbor and the biblical call to seek justice for all people.
God did this thing. Life is stronger than death. Jesus has been raised. So, one day, will we.
