New Ministry for Parents of Young Children

As a parent of a young child, getting everyone out the door with clothes on, breakfast eaten, teeth brushed, and hair combed on any given day can feel like a major win (three out of four is a success). So, to those parents (and grandparents) who make the effort to get to their little ones to church, way to go!

This fall, we encourage you to treat yourself to a different kind of self-care on Sunday mornings: Parent Connect, our new support group for parents during GodZone hours. Enjoy facilitated conversation with other adults, and tips and support for worshiping with kids, which you could do before or after GodZone/Parent Connect. Worship will include opportunities for kids to move, draw, lead, and learn in ways that are especially designed for them.

Worshiping with children may be messier, louder, and more unpredictable, but it is a beautiful gift for the child and for our community. Thank you, parents, for making the effort to get your kids to worship. We hope and pray that through small gestures, warm smiles, and welcoming words, we help create a grace-filled space for families – and all of us – to practice what we preach.
