Men's Ongoing Bible Studies

Men of all ages are invited to join a weekly Bible study or book discussion that fits into your schedule and enriches your life!

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Weekly on Tuesdays
6:30 – 7:30 am
Shepherd of the Valley (Narthex)
Next study on Ephesians beginning February 13

This group of men explore the Bible through a series of assorted study guides, connect with each other on our life activities, and share prayer concerns each week. They also engage in an optional, off-site service project each month.

The group will begin a new study on February 13, on the Book of Ephesians. The Practice Resurrection Study Guide by Eugene Peterson brings the voice of Scripture — especially Paul’s letter to the Ephesians — and the voice of the contemporary Christian congregation together to unpack what it means to fully grow up “to the stature of Christ.” Peterson’s robust discussion will move readers to restore transformed Christian character to the center of their lives. Order the study guide.

Feel free to drop in on any Tuesday morning to join us for this in-depth exploration of Ephesians. There is a Zoom link option if a person is not able to attend the meeting in-person. If you’d like to check out the group on Zoom, a Zoom link will be sent to you.

All are welcome to join us at any time in this on-going learning/growing adventure – there is no Biblical expertise prerequisite at all! Consider giving this a try as one way to expand the Scriptural foundation of your faith in a supportive, small group setting! Fresh-brewed coffee is provided each morning so come have your morning cup of Joe with us and enjoy a great start to your day! We hope to see you soon!

Friday Morning Book Discussion

Weekly on Fridays
6:30 – 8:00 am
Zoom

Consider joining us via Zoom for an engaging exploration of our current book, within the supportive context of a continuing men’s group, as we discuss applying our faith to real life. Bring your questions and experiences as we together learn more about what it means to have been claimed by God.

Beginning February 9, we will explore the book Living the Resurrection: The Risen Christ in Everyday Life by Eugene Peterson. All men are welcome to join us!

God made you for Resurrection life. Work. Food. Friendship. Does Jesus’ Resurrection mean something for them? Eugene Peterson answers with a resounding YES!

Dive deep with Peterson into the Gospel stories of the Resurrection. Experience the wonder through the eyes of the biblical witnesses. Discover how the practices and perspectives of resurrection life transform your daily job, your daily meals, and your daily relationships.

Peterson’s contemplations will move you from Easter Sunday to Resurrection life. Living the Resurrection is perfect for reading and discussing with a group, where you can begin to share life―life to the fullest―the way God intended it.

Our members suggest new books to consider, and we collectively decide which ones to select. We’ve been going from book to book for several years now and it’s become obvious that there is no shortage of materials from thoughtful Christian authors to examine. To varying degrees, each book has served to broaden and mature our perspectives on faith and the life to which Jesus calls us!

We anticipate staying with the Zoom format so it will continue to be an easy way to stay regularly connected (from anywhere!) with this enjoyable group of fellow-learners! Please feel welcome to join us any time!
