At the end of worship, we are blessed and sent to notice and share signs of God’s activity and love. Let’s explore the world around us to discover where God is. (HINT: God is everywhere!)
Consider these ideas for Benediction: Blessed. Sent. Discover! that you can incorporate into your own unique circumstances:
As a regular caregiver for little ones: Search for Signs of God together. Grab a pair of silly glasses from the table in the Narthex (or make your own) and a Scavenger Hunt. While on a walk, hanging out at home, or just out and about, try to find everything on the list!
With older grandkids: Share with them the short film Validation. How amazing to see the impact one person has when they notice and tell others about the goodness and value he saw in them. What happened as a result?
At a family gathering: Go Fly a Kite! On or around Pentecost (May 19, 2024) buy or make a kite to fly in celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit. We can’t see the wind, but we can see it’s power lifting a kite and feel it on our skin. In the same way, the invisible Spirit’s work can be seen and felt in our world as people help each other, as we pray, and as we worship.
How will you practice Blessed. Sent. Discover! with those you love?
