It can be difficult to think about the end of our life. We might ask questions like, “Where will we live?” “What will our health be like?” “How will my family cope?” These are big questions that may cause you to feel big emotions. Planning can help calm our fears and anxieties by thinking through each step, particularly when we are accompanied through the process by caring people. Making end of life plans can serve as a kindness to your family members, so that they are not left to wonder and manage things after we are gone.
We at SOTV are here to journey with you. There are multiple ways in which we can be helpful:
- Caring conversation and spiritual care.
- Connecting you with resources such as the Elder Resource Association (ERA) handbook, available in the Care Ministries office or online at the ERA website.
- Helping with Funeral Pre-Planning. Attend our free workshop on Thursday, October 13 at 10:00 am. Register at sotv.org/events.
- Connecting you with opportunities to explore senior living options, like the Senior Tour of Homes, taking place on Tuesday, October 18. More information at sotv.org/events.
