Current (2019) Food Shelf Volunteer Openings:
- Delivery Support Worker (6 – 8 openings): Looking for volunteers able to lift up to 40 pounds to work one or two Monday mornings a month starting at 9:30 am for approximately 3.5 hours (depends on time delivery arrives). A team of 3 – 5 volunteers will work with a SOTV Food Shelf Operations Leader to perform inventory and shelf product delivered from Second Harvest Heartland. While waiting for the truck delivery, you will assist the Operations Lead with preparing for Tuesday’s food shelf which is open for client shopping.
- Resource Support Volunteer (1 opening): Looking for a volunteer able to work the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesday of each month from 10:45 am – 1:45 pm. Volunteer will meet and greet clients as they arrive for their scheduled appointment, update or create client information in the database, and connect clients to other resources. Volunteer needs to be computer literate.
