Thanks to everyone who participated and PUT THEIR FEET TO FAITH as we served together.
On Sunday, November 19, 2017, we gathered to enjoy fellowship, learn about a variety of ministries, and serve with one another. We had a big turn out with around 130 participants! Volunteers learned about four different local ministries: Our Daily Bread Food Shelf, Bundles of Love, The Drawer, and the Emergency Shelter in Dakota County.
Prior to our event, the congregation donated 2,500 pairs of socks and underwear and 2,500 diapers (with the wonderful support of Thrivent). During the Serve Together event, volunteers packaged diapers, cut rolls of elastic for pants and crib sheets, traced and cut countless mittens and booties, cut and tied fleece blankets, plus sorted and packaged socks and underwear.
After rotating between ministries, people received a tour of SOTV’s food shelf and learned about all of the exciting changes that have taken place. One change is that we are now considered a SuperShelf, giving families an opportunity to shop for healthy foods such as meat, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and more.
