Four SOTV members travel to Tanzania this month to visit our companions in Makifu, Tungamalenga, and Usolanga Parishes. Through worship, conversation, and exploration, we will deepen relationships and walk side-by-side with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We will celebrate the recent completion of water projects at Mpalapande and Ikwavila, and assist three guests from Usolanga preparing to visit Minnesota in November.
On July 15, another group of SOTV members join a Saint Paul Area Synod-wide choir on a journey to Tanzania. Directed by Deacon Mark Ertl, the 20-member choir will rehearse with a Tanzanian choir, teaching some of our anthems and learning several Tanzanian anthems. The joint choir will perform four concerts in different areas of the diocese.
Travelers from each group will share their stories on Thursday, August 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at SOTV.
