With God at our center, and parents as our partners, our goal is to nurture
the total child, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually.

2008-2009 Preschool Registration Information

At Celebrating Children we want to know and understand each child as a valued individual. We want to establish an atmosphere of acceptance and well-being for all who participate in our school. The educational plans at Celebrating Children Preschool are designed to promote the healthy growth of the “whole” child by meeting his/her emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs. Most importantly, we want to help the child realize that they are special and loved by God.

A fundamental belief at Celebrating Children is that children have the right to be cared for in a safe, healthy, nurturing environment by adults who are well-trained in child development techniques. Some of the characteristics we believe to be important for children to acquire within a group setting are:

  • Self-esteem: a sense of identity and self-respect
  • Competence in body and mind: a sense of mastery
  • Problem-solving ability: a sense of reasoning and responsibility
  • Autonomy and independence: the ability to make choices
  • Personal and interpersonal strengths: the ability to communicate with and be sensitive to others; and to get along with others
  • Appreciation for diversity
  • Creativity and innovation: a sense of confidence and growth, and a desire to learn
  • Openness: a sense of trust and honesty
  • Coping with changes: a sense of inner strength and self-control
  • Humor and happiness: the ability to enjoy and have fun

The teacher-planned curriculum at Celebrating Children is balanced between structured and child-initiated opportunities. Children learn in an environment that is filled with age-appropriate equipment and learning materials. The program is flexible and offers the following interest areas in the classrooms: dramatic play, books, blocks, music, science, arts and crafts, large and small muscle activities, as well as cognitive and sensory activities. Creative play can provide pleasure and knowledge at the same time, and we foster such opportunities.

Initial registration takes place in January for the following year. Click on registration box at the top of this page for current registration information.
