We deliver care packages to parents of new babies as a small token of our love and support as we begin a beautiful journey together! Email Katie for details.
At Shepherd of the Valley, we baptize people of all ages! When an infant is baptized, we get a special glimpse at the pure grace of God — knowing that an infant can do nothing but rest securely in the loving arms of their people (and their God). Find more information about the Baptism process at Shepherd of the Valley.
Families are welcome in all worship spaces and are invited to come and go from the Sanctuary as needed for care and service participation. A Supported Family Worship Space will be opening October 6.

Worship Resources
A shelf with coloring supplies, books, fidgets, stuffed animals, and other activities is located outside the Sanctuary for all worshipers. If you don’t have time to build your own bin, pre-assembled activity bags are available to grab and go.
Parenting an infant can be joyful and exhausting, lovely and lonely (sometimes all in the same afternoon). Find valuable connection and friendship with others in your life stage through one of our regular gatherings, like Parent Group or Little Lambs – occasional playtimes.
Interested in meeting with other parents, but not seeing something that works for your schedule? Contact Family Ministry Director, Katie Strand, to explore other options.
The jumble of emotions experienced after the arrival of a new baby is very normal, but it can be overwhelming! Please talk with your doctor if you’re struggling. We also invite you to reach out to a Shepherd of the Valley Pastor or Julie Opheim, on behalf of Faith Community Nurse as other resources for prayer and support.
Before you know it, your little baby will be crawling, walking, running into preschool, and beyond! For an idea of what to expect as your child moves into new ages and stages of church life, check out the scope of our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries.
